Creating Assessment Periods - Dates
Why can’t assessment periods overlap?
Why can’t assessment periods overlap?
When you create an assessment in Sumday, you select the reporting period.
You can not have overlapping reporting periods.
Assessment periods in Sumday cannot overlap when creating emissions assessments for several important reasons:
- Data Integrity: Non-overlapping periods ensure that data is accounted for in the respective reporting period and not double-counted or misrepresented. Each assessment period should represent the unique reporting timeframe to maintain accurate and reliable emissions reporting.
- Streamlined Data Management: Separate assessment periods make it easier to organise, update, and manage data related to the period without the risk of conflicting or redundant information.
- Clarity in Reporting: Distinct assessment periods provide clear boundaries for analysis and comparison. This allows for easier tracking of progress and identification of trends over time, such as year-on-year, quarter-on-quarter etc.
- Accurate Performance Tracking: Non-overlapping periods enable more precise measurement of emissions reduction efforts and initiatives between different time frames.
