Does Sumday sell or promote carbon offsets?
No. Sumday does not sell carbon offsets. We believe there is an inherent conflict of interest if a platform makes money from the sale of offsets while also guiding businesses on measurement and decarbonisation.
Should my business buy offsets?
For the majority of businesses, we believe the priority should be reducing actual emissions rather than purchasing offsets. Offsets should not be a substitute for real reductions in emissions, which are the most impactful way to contribute to climate goals.
Do any Sumday customers use offsets?
Yes, some of our customers choose to purchase offsets independently, outside of the Sumday platform. When they do, the specifics of these offsets are typically disclosed as part of their sustainability or impact reports.
Why does Sumday take this stance?
We are committed to integrity and transparency in carbon accounting. By focusing on emissions measurement and reduction first, we help businesses build long-term, credible climate strategies. While offsets can play a role in certain contexts, they are not the primary solution to decarbonisation.
