Import from Xero to Sumday via CSV upload

To manually export financial transactions from Xero to import into Sumday, you can export the Account Transactions Report to a CSV file, and upload this using the CSV import option in Sumday. 

Note, in Xero you need to have at least a "Standard User" with "Reports" permissions or an Advisor User. Learn about role types on the Xero Help Centre here.

Export Account Transactions Report from Xero

  • In Xero go to: Accounting > Reports > Account Transactions
  • In the Account transactions report:
    1. Select all accounts
    2. Set the date range to reflect the import date range
    3. Set Grouping/Summarising to "None"
    4. Select the Columns that align to the CSV import template
      • Account
      • Account code
      • Contact
      • Date
      • Description
      • Invoice number
      • Net
    5. Click the Update button to refresh the report
    6. Click the Export Button and export to Excel
    7. *Bonus Points: Save the report layout as "Custom" so you can use this for future exports to Sumday
