To manually export financial transactions from Xero to import into Sumday, you can export the Account Transactions Report to a CSV file, and upload this using the CSV import option in Sumday.
Note, in Xero you need to have at least a "Standard User" with "Reports" permissions or an Advisor User. Learn about role types on the Xero Help Centre here.
Export Account Transactions Report from Xero
- In Xero go to: Accounting > Reports > Account Transactions
- In the Account transactions report:
- Select all accounts
- Set the date range to reflect the import date range
- Set Grouping/Summarising to "None"
- Select the Columns that align to the CSV import template
- Account
- Account code
- Contact
- Date
- Description
- Invoice number
- Net
- Click the Update button to refresh the report
- Click the Export Button and export to Excel
- *Bonus Points: Save the report layout as "Custom" so you can use this for future exports to Sumday

Import for an Assessment
- Go to Assessments > Select your assessment > Transactions > New Import
- Select File upload > Next
- Follow instructions in the import flow.
