Summary
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change. The organisation publishes comprehensive assessments of the physical science basis of climate change. The Assessment Reports form the basis of determining the Global Warming Potential (GWP) of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. The most recent report AR6 was first released in 2022. With the prior report (AR5) being first released in 2013.
