Step-by-Step Guide: Creating a PowerBI Dashboard with Sumday’s Emissions Data
- Export Your Data from Sumday
- Go to Reports in Sumday.
- Select the Carbon General Ledger Report and choose the unformatted export option, which is ideal for PowerBI.
- Save the file locally on your computer.
- Download the PowerBI Dashboard Template
- In Sumday, navigate to the Academy section.
- Under Resources, select Report Templates and download the PowerBI Carbon General Ledger Report Dashboard Template.
- Import Data into PowerBI
- Open PowerBI and load the template you downloaded.
- When prompted, enter the file path of your saved export file.
- Wait a few seconds for the dashboard to populate with your data.
- Customize Your Dashboard
- Once the data is loaded, you can modify existing visuals or add new ones to fit your specific needs.

To get the file path of your export, open the CSV file, go to File > Info > Copy Local Path. Avoid using “Copy Path” as it might give a web-based path.
